So yesterday was a sick day, but I got off my butt and came in to do the show. It was worth it to read some of these wonderful, wonderful stories. A man in Palm Springs California stole some pizza. Kevin Bacon, got found by the cops roaming around in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Get excited, it was a pig not the champ of an actor. In actor related news, Steven Seagal was granted Russian citizenship, by his chum Vladimir Putin. Asher Woodworth (I swear this is a fake name) was arrested for dressing up as a tree and blocking traffic to see if he could impact peoples ‘natural choreography’. A man in Ohio is grateful to live in a society where you can get rid of a mattress. The Canadian military is investigating a mysterious sound in the Arctic that’s verging on some sci-fi stuff. Other news happened as well.

In movies, the trailer for Wonder Woman was released and Dr. Strange comes out today, the 4th. Reviews are through the roof, so if you’re a comic book person you might want to check it out.

Happy Halloween

halloween-scary-scene

Happy Halloween! I hope you guys have a safe and raucous weekend and a great Monday. We might even see some costumes in class next week.
On the show I read a couple short scary stories from the reddit page r/shortscarystories. In movies there are a couple fun Halloween events happening around town including the Princess playing Rocky Horror Picture Show and the Apollo having quite a few viewings of different Halloween classics. There are also several club events going on in uptown, most having costume competitions.
In the news, there have been several discoveries in prosthetic limb technology that are awesome. There were some sci-fi-esque developments in a battery based on he human intestine and a diamond being used as an advance storage device.
Lastly, in old news, an escapologist was going to get out of a straight jacket while hanging upside down in the middle of a street on July 7th 1928. It’s interesting that the field of escapology has not changed much in 88 years.
If you guys would like to contact me tweet me @NextWeekNow, and I’ll talk to you Next Week Now.

Friday March 4th

I’m not going to lie to you: it was a slow news week this week.

Not only was the weather grey and boring but you should’ve seen the headlines. The only news this week, two long dead stars being jailed and a pony getting arrested, pale in comparison to other weeks. I also had a short monologue about my ‘journalistic integrity’. I’ll leave it up to you as to whether or not I should be called that.
Anyways, that’s about it on the weird news front. Movies this week include Deadpool having it’s third week at the box office, The Revenant and The Big Short still bring viewers in. Lastly, Zootopia, the new kids film, is receiving good reviews, even if it is clocking in at just under two hours.

Next Week Now November 20

The show this week was Italian themed, as my parents are traveling in Florence, Italy. On home turf, in movies this week, The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay – Part 2 came out and is getting good reviews. The Stanford Prison experiment and Sleeping With Other People also came out this week and have been quite well received. Other Movies playing this week include Room, Suffragette, Sicario, and Crimson Peak.
At the Registry Theatre this week, Radio Ridiculous and The Bully Effect are both being performed as well as musical performances from the Kevin Ramessar Group and Nota Bene Baroque Players.
In news, a skull carved from a $150,000 meteorite is going on auction in L.A. and a French artist has recreated Star Wars characters as classical Greek statues. Finally, a bulldog in Peru, named Otto, has claimed the “World Record for Longest Human Tunnel Traveled by a Dog Skateboarder”.

Halloween Episode

Hey Everyone!
I had a very busy Halloween weekend, and to begin it Next Week Now did a Halloween special. I covered movies playing in a few local cinemas, some events at local clubs and bars, and on another note when and where to get your flu shots. It’s coming up on flu season so it would be a good idea to get your shots to not spread infection. Here is the URL of Laurier’s flu clinic: http://waterloo.mylaurier.ca/health/info/Flu.htm

Also, last weeks blog post had some issues with the links here they’re again:

Lastly, this weeks show had it’s own playlist of halloween music. If you’d like to hear it, here is the link:
