Hey Golden Hawks, it’s Dj Kayles coming to you with another recap of this week’s episode of The Jam. This week I tried something new, playing newer hip hop songs that we’ve never really played on the show before. Since I was the only one on the show this week, I had more creative control and played an array of hip hop songs I know listeners may find good. I played everything from Lil Yachty, Travis Scott, Rico Nasty, and even some British rappers like Octavian. Below is the full list of songs in case you missed any titles.
My Jam of the Week this week was a brand new song by Kyle and Kehlani called Playinwitme. It literally came out yesterday morning and the hook is extremely catchy. It has a great beat and the lyrics are really good. Kehlani and Kyle definitely brought us back to their 2014 roots with this song. For topics, I was super heated over the whole Faith Goldy issue this week.
Long story short, a white supremacist sympathizer was invited to campus to speak by the girl Lindsay Shepherd. I had a lot of opinions on the subject matter, but as far as everyone knows, I didn’t agree with the fact that she was allowed to come and speak.
