Local foods and Loud Tunes with DJ Bojanglez

October 27, 2015 by DJ Bojanglez

As usual, THANK YOU so much for tuning in to my show! Be sure to tune in every Tuesday between 9:00am and 12:00pm to catch me gabbin’!

The News

Firstly, there is a search underway looking for a local teenager in the KW area. The Teenager was last seen on a blue mountain bike sporting a yellow, blue and orange north-face brand backpack. If you have any information please contact the Waterloo police service.

*Update: As of 5:30pm the teen was found. More info HERE

Furthermore, we looked at the Hurricane Patricia and it’s devastation over Mexico. Hurricane Patricia is the strongest landfalling hurricane on record as it clocked in as a stage 5 Hurricane (Winds equal to or greater than 156 MPH) Check out this video of a reporter going over the events of the storm as he was caught in it. Be sure to rock a coat or an umbrella tomorrow folks as southern Ontario is set to feel some of the aftermath of the storm.

Window Weather

As usual we took a look out the studio window to try and give an “accurate” weather forecast. Through a quick peak out the window we noticed a cloudy sky with bare trees eerily standing still. Looks like a good day for a sweater! keep the windbreakers at home!

Grocera

Today we had the pleasure of having Patrick (The co-founder of Grocera) in studio with us. Patrick, a Laurier alumni from the BBA program, offered BBA students superb insight into the business program and how it has helped him in getting where he is today. Patrick also stated that entering a start-up environment allows for someone looking to get into the industry a huge advantage as you are able to see how the entirety of a business is run, rather than just seeing ones specialization.

Furthermore, we looked specifically at Grocera, the online source to your locally produced food in the K-W Area. Grocera allows anyone easy access to a fresh and delicious assortment of high quality, locally produced food and beverage (including alcohol!). The best part is that all the items are delivered, and any order over $35.00 comes with free delivery! The process only involves you picking and choosing what you want off of their website, picking a delivery time, and then simply waiting for your food to arrive! Us students no longer have an excuse to eat unhealthily because the grocery store is too far away!

Be sure to check out their website @ shop.grocera.ca
