After Class - The Jam Ep. 19

What’s up Golden Hawks?! It’s your favorite Dj’s coming at you with another recap of yesterday’s show. This week, we decided to play some Hip Hop tunes, throwbacks and new releases, that we both enjoy quite a bit. We had everything from our old faves like 2Pac, Rob Base, Kanye West, and Jungle Brothers, and some new faves like SOB x RBE and Kendrick Lamar. For our segment, Jam of the Week, we decided to play Changed Man by 2Pac, as it went along with our discussion for the week. As far as topics this week go, we decided to talk more about the St. Patty’s day issue and our views on all the rules put in place. We’ve decided that we should have fun, but still be safe enough to avoid fines and getting arrested for something slight. Either way, the anticipation builds up for this weekend’s antics!

Relating back to our music selection we decided to talk about the new show that we’re obsessed with called Def Jam Chronicles. This show highlights the hardships of artists signed to Def Row Records. Each episode comes out weekly, and currently it’s premiering on BET. Dj Mola and I talked about the things artists go through in the 90s during a time of extreme police brutality. We went really in depth and talked about how we felt about the whole show period. You can catch Death Row Chronicles on tuesdays on BET.com
