All that Golden Globes!

All that Golden Globes!

Entertainment Insight is back and running! After a long Christmas break, some streaming issues at the station and some other technical difficulties, we are back and better then ever! Now back to Hollywood….

The Golden Globes were not too long ago and here are some major highlights we talked about on the show! Everyone wore black to signify the “Times Up” and “Me Too” movement. The #meetoo movement began in October 2017 to help demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace, which followed soon after the public revelations of sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein came out. Winners included: Nicole Kidman for best actress in Big Little Lies and Laura Dern for best supporting actress, Alexander Skarsgard for best supporting actor, and best mini-series,  Aziz Ansari for best actor in a comedy show for Master of None, Elizabeth Moss for best actress in a drama series for The Handmaids Tale, Handmaids tale for best Drama series, best actor in a Drama series was Sterling Brown from this is us, best comedy television series was Black-ish, best drama motion picture was three billboards outside of ebbing, Missouri!

And of course we can’t forget about main highlight of the evening, Oprah’s speech! Oprah Winfrey accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement and delivered a moving speech that brought men and women in the audience to their feet. Listen to the whole speech here:

We have lots more to catch up on in Hollywood, so catch us Wednesdays from 5-6PM on Radio Laurier!
