After Class – The Jam

November 22, 2017 by Amelia Mola

What’s going on Golden Hawks! DJ Mola here with a quick recap of this week’s show. This week, like last show, was another week of trying new things here on the jam. We were so happy and thrilled to have the president of WLUSP, Andy Patsiaouros sit down with us and talk about all things WLUSP, his future plans, and his overall experience during his time at WLUSP. If you haven’t met Andy, he is an absolute ray of sunshine and is always a smiling friendly face around the Student Publications office. Andy is a fifth-year communications student who started his career off as a volunteer photographer for The Cord and has flourished through different roles since his first year. As rookies in the fish pond of WLUSP, Kayles and I were super excited to learn more about the role of President, and the day to day operations at Student Publications. Andy also had the opportunity to play some of his favorite tracks on the show from The Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys, and Macklemore.

Overall, it was a great experience for Kayles and me to sit down and interview someone for the first time, and we are definitely thinking about incorporating it into our shows more often. The interview ended up taking up all of the show, which is not what we anticipated, but we were so thrilled it did. The conversation kept flowing throughout the show, and the interview felt more like a sit down with a friend (a much wiser friend of course). Next week, we will be back on track with our typical show, playing some tunes and talking about topics that are on me and Kayle’s mind. Until next week, stay Golden everyone!
