After Class – The Jam ep. 8

November 8, 2017 by Zakayle Stowe

What’s up Golden Hawks? This week on The Jam, Dj Kayles brought us a very diverse playlist, with a mix of rock, techno, and rap. We played everything from The Black Keys, Lil Uzi Vert, and even our song of the week by an indie band, Goodbye Honolulu.

The song we featured was called Hardly Speaking, and is one of their more popular songs. Below is the music video posted in 2015 taken on their road trip through Montreal. The video is adorable and is definitely worth the watch. Hardly Speaking is off of their album titled Heavy Gold and is available for sale on their website friedrecords.bandcamp.com

Last night, Dj Mola and Dj Kayles talked about beating the November blues and how soon Christmas came. We gave good examples of things you could do in Waterloo to not be so depressed during this sucky month, and questioned why Christmas products came out so early.

We even informed listeners about the big concourse sale happening curtesy of the bookstore. We each shared Christmas presents, and even talked about the weather.

This show was more about the music and less about the talking in a way, and below you can find our playlist for any songs that you missed this show. We’ll catch you next week where Dj Mola has an awesome playlist planned with us.

Playlist:

Tighten Up – The Black Keys

Phases – Majid Jordan

Trrndsttr (Lucian Remix) – Black Coast

Pull Up – Abra

Love. – Kendrick Lamar ft. Zacari

Rose Golden – Kid Cudi ft. Willow

Everyone Nose – N.E.R.D.

Rill Rill –  Sleigh Bells

The Way Life Goes – Lil Uzi
