Not only is he signed under the same label as the OG Lamar (Top Dawg Entertainment), but he also has a song with him on his debut album “The Sun’s Tirade” called “What’s Wrong”. Not only has he been a double-header for major cities, but he also shows his down-to-earth side by expressing his love for his two children. At such a young age, he shows brilliant musical talent through songs that takes you through different emotions. The best thing about Isaiah Rashad’s “The Sun’s Tirade” is that it is the perfect album for good vibes whether you want to relax on your own or kick back and jam with your friends for some catchy. You don’t want to miss out on this one!

6LACK

Coming straight out of the Atlanta Side, 6lack is a definite artist you should take a look at! He has done a successful job with his debut album “Free 6lack” that varies in different emotional in depth within the lyrics. A lot of the songs revolve around heartbreak and getting over someone, so for all you people looking for some songs to relate to when it comes to love, this album is the best one to make you feel all types of way; “Prblms” will have you feeling as if you do not care about a single person and then comes “Worst Luck” where you feel emotional once again. Although your emotional levels will be all over the place, it is a great album to listen to if you need a good cry or a good time!

Topic of the Show:

This week on PSTBGN the topic of the show was tropes of women in games. The Youtube channel Feminist Frequency does an in depth look of these tropes and frequently criticizes games for sexism, much to the chagrin of some others. Anita Sarkeesian, founder of Feminist Frequency and host on the channel, has received a lot of hate over the videos that she posts and was targeted by the harassment campaign GamerGate. There are many sexist tropes of women in games some of them include: the “damsel in distress” trope, the use of woman as decoration, lack of female protagonists, female “armour” (it’s not armour it’s lingerie), the use of women as a reward etc. These tropes and many others are still a problem in today’s gaming industry.

This, the grey and freezing week turned sunny day of February 9, 20Sweatin’ had a couple novel news stories, but when it comes to my show doesn’t every week? On to the news! This week’s top story: a blueberry truck was stolen with roughly $100,000 worth of the fruit on board. This kind of reminds me of that million-dollar maple syrup heist that I reported last year. A little different but still we Canadians seem to steal tasty treats. I guess we’re quite a sweet bunch. Boston Dynamics, a regular muse of this show has created another cool invention, a robot with wheels for feet that can do sick tricks. Musical types now have an easy cover for having a large amount of opioids in their systems. Some McGill researchers have discovered that listening to music releases the brain’s own opioids. I am currently sitting up straight. That is important because some researchers at the University of Auckland found that people who sat with better posture used more positive language and had a happier outlook. Keep in mind this might simply be correlation and not causation, but it is interesting nonetheless. A new species of gecko has been discovered that has a really weird defense mechanism: it looses all of its scales when a predator attacks it. It’s a little icky. A Californian company called Omius has invented a jacket that has mouth holes to help keep you cool. Temperature not personality trait, just so you know. A Vancouver based artist has used the sand of the beach along with the snow to create beached killer whales on the beach. They are both dirty and purty. A Toronto man who has been missing for five years was found in Brazil just walking down the highway. Bitcoin is two months away from becoming a legal online currency in Japan. I do not know what this means nor do I understand the implications, but I figure that there is at least one listener who knows what’s up. Some hackers from Anonymous have done more good work as they knocked out a massive hosting service on the dark web that was responsible for a large child pornography ring. A man in a chimpanzee suit was used for a training simulation of an escaped chimp in a Japanese zoo. It’s a great video. The makers of Scary Movie have announced that they are going to do a Star Wars parody called Star Worlds Episode XXXIVE = MC2: The Force Awakens the Last Jedi Who Went Rogue. Our old news story this week explains the point of air conditioning. That is the complete thought. They are for nothing more or nothing less.

The Holloways on February 8th

This week during my segment ‘This is that’ I discussed the idea of alternative facts. Next week on ‘This is that’ I will be discussing the confirmation of Jeff Sessions and the silencing of Elizabeth Warren in the Senate. For this week’s spotlight it was another British band for your ears. ‘The Holloways’ were our special, I advise everyone to check out their songs, ‘Jukebox Sunshine’ and my personal favorite, ‘Alcohol’. ‘The Holloways’ have an incredibly upbeat style and they kill indie rock in the unique way that only bands from Britain can. Regrettably, one of the founding members died of a heroin overdose in 2014. Too many musicians die too young. Hopefully I have your ears next week at 8pm!
