Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, in rememberance, The Daily News reprinted their November 23rd, 1963 issue in it’s entirety with many interesting advertisements. For example, homes in the New York boroughs sold for as low $15,000. http://www.complexmag.ca/art-design/2013/11/daily-news-cover-jfk-assasination-50th-anniversary
On today’s show I gave my thoughts on the new movie 12 Years a Slave. Definitely one of my favourites this year; the movie was shot beautifully and director Steve McQueen really forced the audience to face the horrors of slavery. This led to a tangent on present day slavery such as the three women held captive in Lambath, South London for more than 30 years.
