SpectruMusic Week 6 (Experimental Pop)

Another real fun week here at Spectrumusic

Played a ton of different experimental pop ranging everywhere from Animal Collective to Xiu Xiu. Had a lot of fun making this setlist. I had to cut down what I wanted to put on for a lot, showing just how great this genre really is.

Anyway I got really excited on the show because the new Daft Punk merch was released and I might pick something up, and then I got sad because it’s probably too late for Alive 2017 to happen so that bummed me out. In addition to my setlist, check out Giorgio by Moroder by the duo. It’s one of my favourite Daft Punk tracks and is a great example of experimental pop. Also check out their merch at Daftpunk.com

I also mentioned the new upcoming Panda Bear EP, A Day With The Homies, as well as talk about the sad death of Malcolm Young.

Shout outs to Quinn for some sweet requests like Xiu Xiu. I’d love to hear requests from other people as well so please hit me up @Lucas_GuLucas on Instagram. I’d love to hear what you guys have to offer.

Anyway, here’s the setlist

White Light/White Heat – The Velvet Underground

St Elmo’s Fire – Brian Eno

Breaking Glass – David Bowie

Flesh Without Blood – Grimes

Tunnel Vision – Rine Sawayama feat. Shamir

Bubblegum Dreams – Ariel Pink

Blissing Me – Björk

Queen Of The Losers – Xiu Xiu

Bat You’ll Fly – Animal Collective

List Ff People (To Try To Forget About)

Widowlicker – Aphex Twin

Debra – Beck

Either gonna go back to back to New Indie this week or a Noise Rock themed show next week

Catch you all there 🙂
