The Rap Up: Ready for The Weeknd

August 26, 2015 by Brit

The Weeknd’s New Album is Here… Sort of…

It might be a leak but we’re not complaining over here at The Rap Up. Originally scheduled to drop this Friday, Beauty Behind The Madness hit the internet earlier this week, and is well worth the wait. It’ll be interesting to see how fans receive this new and slightly happier Weeknd as the Canadian superstar makes a small departure from what we’ve become accustomed to in recent years. With the Fall semester right around the corner, this is one album that will help you through those stressful study grinds. Also, get ready for every girl you’ve ever known to start captioning their photos with quotes from this album. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Effen Vs. Ciroc

If Instagram just isn’t as exciting as it used to be, it’s probably because you’re not following 50 Cent. A man of many hobbies, 50 enjoys making money, driving the best cars and above all starting a beef with anyone he wants through his infamous Instagram account. This time around, French Montana sent the first shots, and at 50 Cent’s new vodka company, Effen Vodka. Not surprising though considering French’s boss is none other than Ciroc owner and personal rival, P Diddy. Could this be the start of the Vodka wars? Maybe, but chances are its just

The Yeezy 350 Boost now comes in black… Amen.

Earlier this week, Adidas revealed that through a new app called #adidasconfirmed, customers could now order themselves a pair of the Yeezy 350 Boosts in an all new colour…. Black. While this still only gives the shoes two colours to choose from, the shoes do look great, however getting a pair is an entirely different story. Sneaker heads everywhere desperately flocked to the app but aside from a few chosen ones, they’re fate was the same. A never ending loading screen, out of stock sizes and disappointment. With some websites retailing limited stock for $1000 a pair, at this point we can only pray Yeezus and Adidas will bless us with more inventory.

Marvel x Hip-Hop

There must be some serious Hip-Hop fans over there at Marvel Comics, as the super-hero empire came through and dropped off 9 more Hip-Hop cover art remixes. This is only the second installment of re-done hip-hop cover art by Marvel yet we’ve been told there’s more to come. In fact, they’ve only released half of what they have in store. As we patiently wait for the rest, The Rap Up would like to go on record and predict that Iron Man replaces Drake on the cover of Nothing Was The Same.
