Go Green!

November 12, 2013 by Rachael McWilliams

Hey everyone! The past few weeks on the show we’ve discussed Environmental Disasters, Halloween creations and How to be green here in the region.

Disasters to the natural environment due to human activity have increased over the years leading to widespread ecosystem destruction and long-lasting consequences. There have been many devastating environmental disasters in the Earth’s history and hopefully we can avoid adding more to the list.

Halloween on Noise Pollution consisted of a brief background on Halloween in general and a recap of our Eco-Artists so far. We suggested ideas about how you could dress up as one of the artists for Halloween and gave a few tips for eco friendly Halloweening and waste reduction.

Eco Artists Played So Far:

  • Barenaked Ladies
  • Willie Nelson
  • Jack Johnson
  • Green Day
  • Daniel Moir
  • Maroon 5
  • Gotye
  • Jason Mraz

Staying green in your local community isn’t as difficult as some may think. There are a number of ways that you can dine out or buy local products and it be good for the planet and foster a sustainable environment. The 100 mile diet focuses on fresh, local foods and will help to reduce ones ecological footprint.
