This week, Emmett and I decided to play a bunch of music we’ve been getting into recently. It’s always a great feeling discovering bands you love, and expanding the scope of your musical knowledge. So basically, the idea behind the show was to challenge our routine and play some stuff that’s a little bit weird, a little bit different, and slightly outside of the conventional metal/hardcore domain. I particularly enjoyed playing “Sunbather” by Deafheaven. Something about that band’s sprawling, atmospheric melodies just appeals to me.
