The Fugitives ‘Bigger Than Luck’ Review
After a three-year hiatus The Fugitives are back with their new EP Bigger Than Luck. This follows as a small preview as to what is to come when they release their full-length album in the fall. Bigger Than Luck maintains their acoustic and folk instrumentation with more of an emphasis on songwriting.
All the tracks on the EP are unique in their own way and each tells a different story. The one that stood out the most for me personally is the title track Bigger Than Luck. The lyrics are really what captured my attention. It is a very uplifting and encouraging song. The track makes me think about the importance of living in the moment. If I ever need a mellow pick me up song, I now know where to look.
Overall I love what The Fugitives have done in their combination of acoustic and folk. They are definitely something to look out for. They are touring across Ontario beginning October 15th in Toronto, with stops in Peterborough, London, Hamilton and a stop at Guelph University on October 31st. I would definitely give this EP a chance and I can promise you that you will not be disappointed. All in all a strong 8.5/10 for a strong comeback EP and I look forward to what is in store.
