Hello and goodbye, yes unfortunately we had “THAT” show where we look back at the past and mourn over our first year experience here at Laurier. DJ Nova and DJ Shrey are sad to say that this is the last show of After Class – Hawk House for the semester…. but WE WILL BE BACK (next semester, so tune in then!)
New Flavors to try this Summer!
To start off the show we talked about the new Starbursts flavor featuring the purple Blackcurrant Starburst. DJ Shrey has been raving on about this flavor for months, and if you guys want to try it out it is definitely worth the HYPE! You can find these delicious gems in most of the Laurier vending machines. Speaking of new flavors, from high to low we went from Starbursts to Starbucks and their awful new Crystal Ball Frappe. Some may say it tastes good… those people probably think that mac and cheese works with ketchup *cough* (DJ Nova). (speaking of coughs… DJ Nova claims to be recovering from the “Laurier Plague”… after having it and still having it for a year.) Anyways, back to the Crystal ball Frappe, it tastes like pencil shavings dipped in sugar. Although, there are some pretty cool Frappe flavors out there on the secret menu. DJ Nova’s go to is the “Cotton Candy Frappe”, which is the Vanilla Bean Frappe with a pump of raspberry syrup (If only they had Blackcurrant syrup!). DJ Shrey goes for the Vanilla Bean Frappe too but adds in chocolate chips and a banana… we call it the “Banana Bread Frappe”.
Hacks for Future First Years
- Evaluate whether or not staying in Residence is really what is best for you
- Find great study places early to kn ow what works best for you (Laz tends to be busy, Library is good for individual studying, & Concourse/24 is good for groups)
- Join new clubs and clubs that interest you
- Branch out from high school friends and meet new people
- Join group chats for your classes (They come in clutch!)
Summer Plans
While DJ Shrey will be traveling in Europe, DJ Nova will be enjoying the Canadian nature breathing in the fresh air and letting mosquitoes sucking in the blood. There’s a lot to look forward to when it comes to Canadian summers… and DJ Shrey is missing it all! We took a look at upcoming music festivals such as VELD and Osheaga. In the theme of music festivals this summer, we came up with our very own TOP 5 Headline Dream List for if we were to have our own music festival. The catch is, we have to diversify the Dream List with various music genres, and can choose artists that are either dead or alive.
