Welcome back to Press Start to BGN, this week on the show we talked about memorable bosses we faced in games. If you are a first time listener/reader Press Start to BGN is Laurier’s gaming show by a bunch of Game Design & Development students here at Laurier’s Brantford campus. The program is very new and so is our show, so for those who don’t know Game Design & Development is headed by Dr Scott Nicholson through the Brantford Games Network or BGN, hence the name “Press Start to BGN” which sounds like “begin.” Thanks for tuning in!
NEWS!
- Brigitte’s , the newest hero to Overwatch, first legendary Engineer skin is hitting the PTR.
- A Way to the Woods creator has secured a publishing deal and the announcement trailer has been released.
- Blizzard is celebrating StarCraft’s 20th anniversary with free giveaways in all their active games.
- There is a new warning from the ESRB it’s a little tough to explain relatively short so here is the link
- Bethesda Softworks’ annual pre-E3 2018 showcase, BE3, will take place on Sunday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m. PT, the publisher announced today. This will be Bethesda’s fourth dedicated E3 event.
- Rainbow Six Siege is making changes to the systems in place to ban those using racist and homophobic language, as well as other hate speech, in game.
- Fortnite Dev is banning players who team up in solo matches. The teaming up put the people who were actually playing solo as the mode intended at a clear disadvantage.
- Some Nintendo Switch owners’ playtime activity was displaying incorrectly, showing that no playtime was established. It’s funny, yes but have no fear all your playtime is still there it’s just not being displayed.
- Chucklefish, the publisher behind Stardew Valley, has revealed more details about it’s upcoming game Spellbound. CEO of Chucklefish Finn Brice revealed more about the concept in an interview with Red Bull last week, where he described Spellbound as a “wizard-school sim” inspired by a host of popular fantasy series. There’s a bit of Harry Potter in there, but also Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom series, Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series, and Studio Ghibli’s animated films, with a dash of Steven Universe.
- Iron Galaxy, the studio that ported Skyrim onto Nintendo Switch, wants to turn its hand to a tougher challenge – Monster Hunter: World.

- Frantics
