On this week of The Crunch, Nick broke the exclusive trade that sent NBA mega-star Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons, a move in which the former 1st overall pick was reportedly shocked. Nick invited analyst Cam Reeves on to break it down. After discussing the trade, Nick and Cam debated the OKC Thunder’s hot streak, in which Nick explained that he had been waiting for it to happen and keyed in on familiarity and patience as the keys to success in the teams recent turnaround. They then finished with discussing the top teams in the Eastern Conference and why the Cleveland Cavaliers may not look like a team that could be poised to return to the finals easily.
Nick then invited Ganden Doherty on the show to discuss the return of Tiger Woods at the Farmers Insurance Open, in which he placed inside the top 25 out of the 156 man field. Nick was pleasantly surprised with Tiger’s putting while Ganden alluded to Tiger’s much improved short game as success’ in his return to action. Both Nick and Ganden agreed that Tiger will need to work on his driving accuracy, which spawned multiple rounds of hitting just 3/14 fairways throughout the weekend.
Nick and Ganden then made their Super Bowl picks, with both believing that the game will be close, but that the excellence of the greatest quarterback ever Tom Brady would eventually prevail. They also touched on the announced boxing rematch of GGG and Canelo, and both predicted another exciting fight.
