Tool reveal that they have finished recording music for their new album.
The coroners report for Tom Petty stated that the cause of death was influenced by an accidental overdose of pain medication. Petty had been taking medications for many back issues as well as a hip that was confirmed to be broken days before his death.
Alex Lifeson of Rush stated that the band was essentially done- this is no surprise, as the band was officially done as of last year, but this is just an icing on the cake.
Def Leppard and Journey have booked their tour for 2018, which is a massive stadium bout.
Machine Gun Kelly will be playing Tommy Lee in the upcoming Motley Crue biopic.
Candlebox have booked their 25th anniversary tour for 2018
A Day to Remember announced the lineup for their Self Help Festival in San Bernadino on March 3rd, including Papa Roach, Alkaline Trio, Of Mice and Men, Crown the Empire, and more
Linkin Park bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farell has a new podcast, where he invites people on to talk about everything. It is called MemberGuest. So far, Matt Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold and Tre Cool from Green Day have been on the show.
Audioslave was an American super group/rock band which was formed in 2001 by the former members of Rage Against the Machine, and Chris Cornell. Both parties had recently ended things with their respective bands, and were looking for a new project which reflected their individual sound.
In the first 19 days of rehearsal, the band recorded a total of 21 song demos. This was cut down to 13 songs, and the band released their self titled album, Audioslave, in 2002
After playing the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas that same year, Cornell stated that the band had saved his life. This was later reaffirmed when he checked himself into drug rehabilitation the following year.
The band toured frequently until the release of their next album in 2005, called Out of Exile. The song Be Yourself was a massive hit on radio play, as much as Like a Stone was for the first album
More touring followed, until the band stopped entirely in 2006 to record another new album, Revelations. Once again, the band recorded their songs in a very short time frame, and released it in late 2006. Cornell postponed touring until 2007, but after one show, announced he was leaving the band. This stemmed from creative differences, and Cornell did not feel as though the band could work together anymore.
Few one off shows and songs were played over the course of the next 10 years, but the band only reunited fully in 2017, when playing at the Prophets of Rage Anti-Inaugural Ball. The band stated they would want to make some dates in the near future, but this would never happen, as Chris Cornell died on May 18th, 2017.
Audioslave has released 3 studio albums, 10 music videos, 2 EP,s and 14 singles.
