Welcome to Entertainment Insight’s official blog posts! Thank you so much to everyone who tuned in to Entertainment Insight today. We had a jam packed show with so much going on in the entertainment world this week. From album drops, to movie news and tragedy in the music world, we covered a lot. So for those of you who missed this week, not to worry, we will catch you up!
On a sentimental note… Hilary Duff turned 30 this week! That’s right, our very own teenage Lizzie McGuire isn’t such a teenager anymore. We both grew up idolizing Hilary, so this was a huge milestone for both Hilary, and US! How old do you feel….
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who some may know as Elaine from Senfield, announced she has breast cancer in a post on her official Twitter account last week. Dreyfus broke the internet with a heart filled tweet stating: “1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal healthcare a reality.”
Any Sex and the City fans? We have some unfortunate news. The third movie was in works when Kim Catrall who plays Samantha Jones had too many requests and insisted she would only follow through with the movie if Warner Bros would produce the rest of her films that are in the works. Catrall then confirmed that it was not true over Twitter. Catrall tweeted “The only demand i ever made was I didnt want to do a 3rd film and that was back in 2016”. Sarah Jessica Parker who played Carrie Bradshaw and Kristin Davis who played Charlotte York expressed their sadness in the cancellation of filming. Parker stated in an interview the Dail Mail, “Im dissapointed, we had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. Its not just disapointing that we dont get to tell that story and have that experience, but more so for the audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.” What a bummer!
Miley Cyrus made a huge come back with her new album “Younger Now” that was released this week. Hannah and I absolutely love it.. what do you guys think?
Speaking of major come backs, we took some time to discuss perhaps one of the biggest come backs of all time. Shania Twain dropped her first album in 15 YEARS on September 29th called “Now”. Will this album ever live up to the soundtracks that shaped our teenage lives such as, “I Feel Like a Woman”? I guess we will wait and see.
In other sad news, Tom Petty passed away on October 2nd, at age 66. Petty was the lead of “Tom Petty and the heartbreakers”, known for hits like Free Fallin, Wildflowers, I wont back down, and much more. Petty was considered one of the greatest songwriters, a rock icon, and was inducted in to the rock and roll hall of fame in 2002. Twitter blew up with tributes to Petty, many people gave their condolences including Sheryl Crow, Bon Jovi, Shania Twain, John Mayer and Stephen King.
That’s all for today, but we hope you tune in next time! Have a safe, happy and restful reading week everybody!
Hannah and Jacq OUT.
