ERIN ANDREWS WINS $55 MILLION LAWSUIT
On Monday, FOX Sportscaster, Erin Andrews was awarded $55 Million from the jury in her lawsuit against convicted stalker, Michael David Barrett.
The trial dates back to 2008, when Barrett secretly filmed Andrews through removing her hotel room peepholes in Nashville, Tennessee and Columbus, Ohio. Originally, Andrews wanted to sue for $75 million, but settled for the 55 after a seven hour-long deliberation with the jury.
The settlement will be divided 51/49, with Barrett paying $28 million and the West End Hotel Partners, $26 million. However, some experts say that she may not receive the jury award in full.
US TOURIST KILLED BY PALESTINIAN IN ISRAEL
Yesterday, a stabbing by a Palestinian at a boardwalk in Tel Aviv, Israel resulted in the death of an American tourist and 10 other citizens wounded.
The attack is said to have taken place fairly close to where American Vice President, Joe Biden was attending an event in the area with former Israeli President, Shimon Peres.
Earlier that day, two other Israeli-targeted Palestinian attacks took place, in which two police officers were shot in East-Jerusalem, and another citizen was stabbed just outside of Tel Aviv. All 3 attackers have since been killed.
CANADIAN WOMAN TO BE FEATURED ON BILLS
In honor of International Women’s Day yesterday, Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau announced that a Canadian woman will be featured on bank notes to be issued in 2018.
In his statement, Trudeau said, “Today, on International Women’s Day, the Bank of Canada is taking the first step by launching public consultations to select an iconic Canadian woman to be featured on this new bill.”
