For those who love horror movies, or those who enjoy the work of Pendereki, be prepared to listen to a magnificent compilation of songs by Tim Hecker. Releasing his 4th album entitled Virgins, Hecker creates an album that shakes listeners to the core, evoking that fight or flight feeling. It’s like seeing something horrible and being unable to look away, feeling fear and sheer stupefaction all at once. Hecker makes music that many people won’t be able to comprehend, for those who do, prepare to be in awe. Simple organ lines, pianos and synths create mesmerizing emotional tracks. The 2011 EP, “Ravedeath, 1972,” was a major shift for Hecker as he incorporated live instruments in his tracks. With Virgins, the artist continues to improve and evolve. Essential Tracks: “Incense at Abu Ghraib”, “Live Room Out,” and “Virginal II”. To listen to the full album click here
