Laurier event to check out today is Intercultural Development Office presents One-Minute Classroom Contribution. Kw event today to check out is Initial Success Celebrating 100 Years of V.O. Whisky from 9:30am-4pm at City of Waterloo Museum, 550 King Street North.They are located at Conestoga Mall by the entrance to the food court.There is a mystery surrounding the origins and naming of Seagram’s V.O., one of the most well-known whiskies produced at the former Waterloo distillery. Family tradition states that “V.O.” stands for “Very Own,” others claim that the initials stand for “Very Old.”There will be photographs and artifacts from the production and bottling stages at the former Seagram Waterloo Distillery. Admission is always FREE. Waterloo Reads is going form 7pm-9pm at McCormick Branch Library, 500 Parkside Drive.Waterloo Public Library will be hosting the 1st annual Waterloo Reads. At Waterloo Reads, nine local celebrities (or “Champions”) will come together and each defend one of the titles nominated for the 2013 Evergreen Award. The 10th participant will be the winner of the Waterloo Reads Contest. The Waterloo Reads event is open to the general public; registration not required. It promises to be an evening of lively book chat, delicious refreshments, draw prizes and more. Music event to check out in Waterloo is at Maxwell’s Music House Maxwell’s Music house- Lights over Phoenix, Dear Stella, Defect + more – All Ages @ 8:00 pm – 11:45 pm 10$.
Entertainment news today is Simpsons are killing off a main character. Another Simpsons character will be joining Maude Flanders, Frank “Grimey” Grimes and Snowballs I through IV in the Springfield cemetery soon. The show’s executive producer Al Jean said recently that a major character will soon meet their demise, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “We are doing this story for the same reason we do all others – we think it has a good emotional through-line,” he explained. “The story will be produced this year, though it may air in Season 26.”.
