A month long absence calls for gettin' nerdy

A month long absence calls for gettin' nerdy

Hey lovelies,

Last night was the first episode of Guitar Strings & Community Things under the new schedule and the new show set up. For those of you who couldn’t tune in, here’s a snapshot of what you missed.

Charlotte Armstrong, the founder and coordinator of Nerd Nite KW (amongst many other awesome things) co-hosted with me from the Radio Laurier studio and we spent the evening chatting about all good things, nerdy. The highs and low of nerd culture are tricky and Charlotte and her team are working towards promoting positive nerd culture that is a safe, inclusive space for people to be who they are and geek out on the things they love. Sharknerdo, is the name of Nerd Nite KW’s first event of the 2013/14 season and takes place at the Rum Runner Pub, 7pm, on September 24th. It’s not an event you’ll want to miss. There’ll be talks on sharks, tornados, and of course, a free screening of Sharknado! For more info, be sure to check out Nerd Nite KW’s Facebook page.

On top of the nerdy awesome, Charlotte and I talked about a ton of awesome events that are coming up over the next bit. With too many to name, here are a few you really don’t want to miss:

Saturday Sept 21:
Doors Open Waterloo Region
The MUSEUM turns 10!
Word on the Street

Tuesday Sept 24:
Nerd Nite – Episode 15: SharkNERDo

Friday Sept 27:
Imbibe’s First Birthday Party!

Alright! That’s it for me. I’ll catch you guys in about 29 or so days!
