The Top 10 Female-Fronted Bands

The Top 10 Female-Fronted Bands

Hello all!

I hope everyone is making the most of this rainy, unpleasant weather! I know Emma and myself sure didn’t let this off putting weather bring us down for our show this week. Okay, so last night for everyone who missed it, we decided to do The Top 10 Female Fronted Bands. We did this for a few reasons, one of which being to show that women can rock equally as hard (in some cases even harder) then their male counterparts. Women are often not given the much deserved respect in the rock and roll world so we decided to dedicate this weeks Top 10 to these women who fronted some of the greatest rock, pop, new wave, punk and indie bands of the 70s, 80s, 90s and today.

Here is our list for all of you who missed it!

10: Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders-We played Back On The Chain Gang

9: Erica Freas of RVIVR/Lightnin’ Round-We played Resilient Bastard

8: Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart-We played Magic Man

7: Emily Haines of Metric-We played Combat Baby

6: Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds-We played Bombs Bombs Away

5: Debbie Harry of Blondie-We played Heart of Glass

4: Karen O of The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s-We played Skeleton

3: Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane-We played Somebody to Love

2: Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes-We played Hold On

1: Stevie Nicks & Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac-We played The Chain

Last night we were raving about Heart’s unbelievable cover of “Stairway to Heaven” that brought both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page to tears. Here is the link for this amazingly flawless cover:

Oh also, Emma and myself were able to podcast the show last night so we will be doing that every week from now on. Once we figure out how to upload it onto our blog page we will have it on here for all of you who missed the show!

Hope you all will be joining us next Monday at 8pm for the latest Top 10!

Cheers!
