Firstly, we apologize for starting late on our blogging, but better late than never, right? Anyway, so this is the first of many blogs to come for GirlTalk BoyTalk which of course takes place every Sunday at 6pm, as if you didn’t know!
So, on our latest show we had Andrea as our guest host and our weekly topic was University Life – expectations vs. reality, meaning what you thought university life was going to be compared to how it turned out to be! (It probably turned out better, I mean, c’mon, its Laurier!)
So, we went a bit into depth with sub-topics like academic workload, the financial aspect, partying, living away from home (for those that did), and of course, dating, which is a major factor for many people, and we discussed how they turned out compared to what we expected.
It was indeed a very entertaining discussion and I hope you tuned in! Somewhere throughout the show myself (DJ Umer) and Andrea formulated a quote; “Money comes and goes, but experiences don’t.” I am pretty sure it was while we were going over the financial aspect of university life and how you should not let money get in the way of having a good time. Having said that, you should also be smart with your money while in university!
We also talked about what changes each of us would make to Laurier if we could. I mentioned a better LORIS server to handle all the traffic, but that is a problem with many other universities as well. DJ Low mentioned campus security should be improved because of all the recent incidents involving break ins, thefts, hate crimes, etc. that have occurred.
And that was our show for the week! Hope your Sunday night was done right with GTBT!
Enjoy the rest of the week and I’ll leave you with this:
