Hello hello hello to everyone in radioland!
Hilary (Noise Pollution) reporting from the glorious far away land of Toronto! This summer the street team is keeping you updated on our whereabouts and the events we’ve been attending! Last night I went to The Phoenix Concert Theatre in TO for the last night of Zeus’ Cross-Canada tour. Unfortunately, I got there late because I had a wedding, but my friend Jamie was there to fill me in on everything I missed!
First on the bill were The Elwins from Keswick, Ontario. These guys graced Maxwells Music House in Waterloo this past Friday, so I commend anyone who was there, and we can now be best friends! If you haven’t seen The Elwins yet, you really need to get your bum off the couch and do it already! They are probably one of the most energetic live bands I’ve ever seen and are some of the nicest gentlemen to talk with. I am told that the highlight of their set was when the boys taught the audience the moves for their song “Fox Tale”. See some pictures Jamie took below from the line “what’s a fox without a tale”:
Second up was Two Hours Traffic from out east. These guys also played Waterloo with Zeus this past week at Starlight! I was sadly only able to catch the last 3 songs of their set, but I am told they played some new songs which will be recorded this summer, so get pumped for a new album in the works 🙂 Everyone should pick up their pervious albums “Little Jabs” and “Territory”…you will not be disappointed! Check out a photo Jamie took below:
Last but definitely not least was Zeus, from right here in Toronto! These gentleman always put on a spectacular show, full of guitar harmonies, 4 person drum solos, and lots of sing-alongs! Zeus made up for my lateness in every way. They played songs off their new album “Busting Visions”, their first album “Say Us”, and even added a cover of Genesis into the mix. Once again, pick up the albums and go see this band live, I guarantee they will captivate you just as they have me! Here is the last photo that Jamie took:
Well that’s it for me! Check back often for updates on other events the street team are venturing to this summer. Tell us about cool events/concerts you’ve been going to on the twitters @rlstreetteam.
